Required documents for the Zero Deposit Program

Every Zero Deposit applicant uploads the same baseline document pack: passport bio page, passport photo, CV, proof of financial means, civil-status proof, police clearance, and a basic medical certificate. Some programmes layer on extras (e.g. proof of trade qualification). All documents are reviewed by a Workium caseworker before matching.

Baseline document pack — required for every Zero Deposit submission

1Passport bio page. The page that shows your photo, full name, date of birth, passport number, issue and expiry dates. The passport must be valid for at least 12 months from your planned travel date.
2Recent passport-format photograph. Plain background, full face, no smile, no head covering (unless religious). Less than 6 months old. JPEG or PNG, minimum 600×800px.
3Curriculum vitae (CV). Reverse-chronological format, clearly listing every employer, role, dates and key responsibilities. Particularly important if the role you have applied for requires demonstrated experience (e.g. welding, construction, hospitality supervisor).
4Proof of financial means. A recent bank statement (last 3 months), savings book or sponsor letter showing that you can fund the milestone fees and personal costs while abroad. Workium uses this to confirm the eligibility floor — we do not retain or share your full bank statements.
5Civil-status proof. Marriage certificate (if married), birth certificates of dependants (if travelling with family), or confirmation of single status if the destination country requests it.
6Police-clearance certificate. Issued by your country of nationality and (where you have lived in another country for more than 12 months in the last 5 years) every country of residence. Must be no more than 6 months old at the date of visa lodgement.
7Medical certificate. A basic fitness-to-work letter from a registered doctor — confirming you have no condition that prevents you performing the role. Some destinations (e.g. Germany, Finland) require a more detailed format; if so, the Workium Partner Agency will provide the form for your doctor to complete after matching.

Programme-specific add-ons

Germany ZAV — proof of vocational qualification or equivalent work experience for construction/warehouse roles. Serbia — sometimes a vaccination card or yellow-fever certificate depending on the season. Bulgaria seasonal — proof of return-flight booking is requested AFTER visa issuance (do not book before). Hungary — proof of accommodation (provided by the employer post-match, you do not need this at submission). Finland — for skilled welder placements, you must upload a current welding certification (e.g. CSWIP, IIW or equivalent) plus 5 reference photos of past work.

File format and size limits

• PDF, JPG or PNG only. • Maximum 10 MB per file. • Filenames must be in English characters (the Workium upload tool will rename files automatically if needed). • If your document is in a language other than English, German, Spanish, French, Polish, Bulgarian, Hungarian or Serbian, you must also upload a certified translation. The Partner Agency assigned to you can recommend a translator after matching.

Review cycle

Each document you upload moves into the Workium document queue and is reviewed by a Workium caseworker within 2 business days. If a document is rejected, you receive an in-dashboard notification with the specific reason (e.g. 'photo background not plain', 'CV missing dates for 2021 employer'). You can re-upload immediately. Your application stays in the 'awaiting documents' stage until every document is approved — only then are you eligible for matching.

Where to upload

Log in to your Workium account → Zero Deposit tab → 'Documents' panel. The panel shows you exactly which documents are still required and the status (uploaded, approved, rejected) of each one.

Payment milestones, fees and how billing works

Zero Deposit pricing is structured into two milestone-linked payments: Payment 1 is due 5 days after your employment documents and work-permit authorisations are issued and verified; Payment 2 is due 5 days after your visa is issued. The exact amounts depend on the destination programme and the matched Partner Agency. Government, embassy, courier and translation fees are extra.
