Zero Deposit Program — what it is and how it works for you

The Workium Zero Deposit Program lets you start an overseas relocation with €0 upfront. You only pay once your employment documents are verified (Payment 1) and once your visa is issued (Payment 2). This article walks you through the model, the protections, and where to start.

What is the Zero Deposit Program?

The Zero Deposit Program is a Workium pathway that removes the single biggest barrier to relocating abroad: upfront deposits. You sign your application with €0 due, and the only money you ever pay is tied to verified milestones in your case. Payment 1 falls due AFTER your employment documents and work permit authorisations have been issued and verified inside your Workium dashboard. Payment 2 falls due AFTER the work or residence visa for your programme has actually been issued. If a milestone is not reached, no payment is requested.

Who delivers the service?

Workium is your contractual counterparty. The Service Agreement you sign at submission is between you and Workium Ltd (a UK company, registered in England and Wales, company no. 16172094, registered office International House, 36–38 Cornhill, London EC3V 3NG). Workium delivers the operational stages — employer matching, document procurement, work-permit lodging, visa coordination, in-country liaison — either directly or through a vetted Workium Partner Agency that we appoint on your behalf. The Partner Agency is our subcontractor; Workium remains accountable to you for the entire process.

The four-step flow

1Apply. Pick a destination programme (Germany ZAV, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Finland Work Permit — exact list varies by season). Provide your residence country and city, your phone number, and your full legal name as it appears on your passport.
2Upload documents and sign. You upload every required document (passport bio page, recent passport photo, CV, proof of financial means, civil status proof, police clearance certificate, medical certificate). Once everything is in, you read the Workium Service Agreement on screen, scroll to the bottom, tick the consent boxes and type your full legal name as your signature. Submission requires the signed agreement — nothing is sent to Workium without it.
3Workium reviews and matches. Our team verifies every document, runs eligibility against the chosen programme, and reserves your spot. We then assign a vetted Partner Agency on your behalf and notify you on your dashboard. From the moment the assigned Partner Agency confirms the match, work begins on procuring your employer documents and permit authorisation.
4Documents → Payment 1 → Visa → Payment 2. The Partner Agency procures your employment documents and lodges the work-permit application. When the documents are issued, Workium notifies you on your dashboard and Payment 1 becomes due within 5 calendar days. Once the visa is issued, Payment 2 becomes due within 5 calendar days. Both payments are processed through secure card checkout from your Workium dashboard.

Protections built into the model

• €0 at signing. There is no application fee, no admin fee, no registration fee. • 3-day cooling-off. You can withdraw in writing within 3 calendar days of signing for free. • Receipted milestones. Each invoice is issued only when the corresponding milestone has been verified by Workium. • Document escrow. Your uploaded documents are stored in secure cloud storage on Workium's UK-EU-compliant infrastructure and are shared only with the appointed Partner Agency, prospective employers, and the relevant consulate / ministry — strictly to progress your case. • Agency-set fees, capped within Workium's published range. You see the exact Partner Agency fees on your dashboard the moment your match is confirmed. The figure you see on the dashboard is the figure you pay. • No guarantee of visa issuance — visa outcomes belong to the foreign authority — but Workium remains accountable for delivering the service work properly.

Payment milestones, fees and how billing works

Zero Deposit pricing is structured into two milestone-linked payments: Payment 1 is due 5 days after your employment documents and work-permit authorisations are issued and verified; Payment 2 is due 5 days after your visa is issued. The exact amounts depend on the destination programme and the matched Partner Agency. Government, embassy, courier and translation fees are extra.

Every Zero Deposit applicant signs the Workium Service Agreement at submission — before matching. You have 3 calendar days to withdraw at no cost. After the 3-day window, milestone fees become payable as work progresses. The signed agreement is available for download as a PDF from your dashboard.
