Alumni Job Placement Workspace

5 min read

Hand your IT/tech alumni to a dedicated Workium caseworker. We evaluate eligibility for UK Skilled Worker or Germany EU Blue Card, build their CV, match them to employers, and support them to an accepted offer.

Alumni Job Placement Workspace

The Alumni Job Placement workspace is a caseworker-led pipeline that places your tech graduates into UK Skilled Worker and Germany EU Blue Card roles. It exists for coding bootcamps, university programmes and training institutes that want their graduates working internationally.

What Workium Does

1Eligibility evaluation — Workium caseworkers review every alumnus you submit and decide UK or Germany route based on profile fit
2CV preparation — your alumni upload their CV (PDF/DOC/DOCX, up to 10 MB to Wasabi). Caseworkers polish it for the chosen market.
3Employer matching — Workium operates a verified network of UK and German employers actively hiring for sponsored roles
4Application coordination — caseworkers prepare and submit applications on the alumni's behalf
5Interview support — including coaching, scheduling and post-interview feedback
6Offer negotiation — securing competitive packages and managing offer-stage logistics
7Visa filing handoff — once an offer is accepted, the alumnus moves to Workium Individual for visa processing

The 5-Tab Structure

Overview — KPIs and recent activity (alumni count, talent-pool count, placed count, in-pipeline count, offers extended this month)
Alumni Roster — the master list of every alumnus you have submitted. Each row shows status; alumni Workium has evaluated as not eligible stay here with a 'Not eligible' badge.
Talent Pool — alumni Workium has evaluated as eligible and ready to place. Each card shows the recommended country, recommended visa route, and a fit-score (0-100). Two CTAs per card: 'Ready to be placed' opens a modal with the caseworker's full eligibility report, and 'Place candidate' opens the placement payment.
Caseworker Pipeline — kanban-style view across the 14 stages of the UK Skilled Worker funnel (matches the agency dashboard); admins can drag cards across stages
Placements — the closed-loop view of placed alumni and the placement fee status

The 14 Pipeline Stages

new_application → eligibility_assessment → discovery_call → enrolled → caseworker_assigned → applicant_onboarding → job_matching_active → employer_contacted → interview → job_offer_secured → offer_accepted → placed (+ offer_declined and rejected as terminal states).

Adding Alumni

2Click 'Add alumnus' or 'Bulk import'
3For individual creation, fill in:
First name, last name, email, phone

Country interest (UK or Germany)
Programme (UK Skilled Worker Visa or Germany EU Blue Card — auto-filtered by country)

For CSV bulk import: download the template, fill it in, upload. Column headers must match exactly. Validation runs row-by-row.

Submit to Workium

Once a record is complete (country + programme + CV uploaded), click 'Submit to Workium'. Status flips to profile_pending and pipeline_stage to eligibility_assessment. You can now watch the eligibility evaluation happening live in the Caseworker Pipeline tab.

Placement Fee

When an alumnus reaches placed status, you owe Workium the agreed placement fee per alumnus (varies by contract — typically a fixed fee per placement). Invoices appear under the Payments tab. Pay via Stripe or Paystack; receipts are emailed.

Transparency and Communication

Each alumnus's drawer view shows:

Assigned caseworker (name + email + 'Message caseworker' mailto link)
Latest caseworker note
Application history (employers contacted, applications submitted, interview rounds)
Offer stage updates

Messages sent through 'Message caseworker' are tracked centrally for SLA monitoring.

FAQ

Q: How does the Talent Pool work? A: Once you submit an alumnus to Workium, our caseworker reviews their CV and profile and decides whether they are eligible for the UK Skilled Worker Visa or the Germany EU Blue Card. Eligible alumni move to the Talent Pool with a fit score and a written report; you can then click 'Place candidate' to start the placement payment. Not-eligible alumni stay in the Alumni Roster with a clear 'Not eligible' badge so you know not to invest further effort.
Q: How long does it take to place an alumnus? A: Typically 8-16 weeks from Submit to Workium → offer_accepted, depending on the alumnus's profile and target market.
Q: What if my alumnus declines an offer? A: They flip to offer_declined (terminal). You can re-submit a new application but the original case stays archived.
Q: Do I get refunded if no placement is achieved? A: Yes — Workium refunds 30% of total fees paid if no placement is achieved within the agreed window. Read the full refund policy in our Terms of Service at workium.co.uk/terms-of-service.
