The Company Formation workspace incorporates entities across the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Estonia using a 4-step wizard. Drafts auto-save, payment is via Stripe or Paystack, and you receive a branded PDF receipt.

Company Formation 4-Step Wizard

The Company Formation workspace is a guided 4-step wizard that takes you from blank slate to a registered legal entity. Six jurisdictions are supported: United Kingdom (LTD/PLC/LLP), Ireland (Limited), Portugal (Lda/SA), Lithuania (UAB), Bulgaria (OOD/EOOD), and Estonia (OÜ).

Step 1: The Company

Enter your proposed company name. The wizard does NOT pre-check name availability — that is part of the back-office verification once you submit.
Choose the company type: LTD, Limited (IE), PLC, or LLP. The available options change by country.
Select an industry category from the 12-tile carousel (Tech, Commerce, Marketing, Consulting, Finance, Healthcare, Hospitality, Real Estate, Education, Logistics, Manufacturing, Other).

Step 2: Owners

Click 'Add owner' to add the first owner.
For each owner enter first/last name and ownership percentage.
Toggle 'is_company' if the owner is a corporate entity rather than an individual.
Add as many owners as needed. Ownership percentages MUST sum to exactly 100%.
Confirm the PEP (politically exposed person) declaration. Required to proceed.

Step 3: Residential / Registered Address

Enter Address line 1, City, State / County, Postal code, Country.
For UK formations, you can purchase a Workium-managed Proof of Address (£49 add-on) if you do not have a UK address.
The form fields adapt per country (e.g. State for UK, County for IE, Distrito for PT).

Step 4: Order Summary

Three editable summary cards (Company / Owners with donut chart / Address)
Add-on toggles with instant total update:
UK Proof of Address (£49)
Logo Design (£30)
UK Confirmation Statement filing (£100/yr)
Base fee: €149 across all jurisdictions
Total in EUR + GBP for UK
Download Summary button — exports a branded HTML print-out
Save & Confirm button — locks the order, flips status → submitted, sets payment_status → pending

Drafts

The wizard auto-saves a draft after every keystroke (~700ms debounce). One draft per business at a time. You can close the browser, log back in, and resume exactly where you left off. Click 'Discard' on Step 1 if you want to start over.

Payment

After Save & Confirm, you proceed to checkout. Payment options:

Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
Paystack (cards, bank transfer for African customers in NGN)

After payment we send you:

A branded PDF receipt by email
A confirmation screen with your Order ID
A status badge in the Formation list view

What Happens Next

Our formation team reviews your submission and contacts the relevant company-house in your jurisdiction. Typical turnaround:

UK: 24-48 hours for incorporation, 2-3 weeks for full pack delivery
IE / EE / LT: 3-5 working days
PT / BG: 5-10 working days

You can track status in the Formation list inside your dashboard.

FAQ

Q: Can I incorporate across multiple jurisdictions in one order? A: No — one order per jurisdiction. Submit each separately.
Q: Can I edit after submitting? A: No — the order is locked once you click Save & Confirm. Email sales@workium.co.uk for any urgent changes before payment is captured.
Q: Do I need a local director? A: Depends on the country. UK does not require resident directors; some EU countries (e.g. PT) recommend one for tax efficiency. Our team advises during review.
